About Carl Buhler
Carl Buhler is the CEO of Buhler Consulting, LLC which provides consulting services to the aerospace and defense industries focused on logistics, aircraft maintenance, sustainment, modernization, and supply. Carl is a retired Air Force Brigadier General (Brig Gen) who served over 28 years on active duty. He is also a two-time Air Force major command (MAJCOM) director of logistics.
Carl's first position as a MAJCOM director was in Hawaii at Headquarters, Pacific Air Forces (PACAF). His second position as a MAJCOM director was in Virginia at Headquarters, Air Combat Command (ACC). At ACC, he led his team focused on the logistics, supply, munitions, force protection, and aircraft maintenance functional areas. Additionally, he worked with various staff agencies, MAJCOMs, the inspector general, and wings to increase sortie production, sortie generation, and readiness. Prior to ACC, Brig Gen (ret) Buhler was the commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Complex in Utah where his sustained efforts helped ensure maintenance, modification, repair, and overhaul activities ran efficiently and effectively.
After initial training, Brig Gen (ret) Buhler’s experience with the US Air Force extends to the early 1990s where he gained key experience during his deployment to the cease-fire phase of Operation Desert Storm. Additionally, in the late 2000s, he served as commander of the 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Group in Southwest Asia where he supported Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Earlier in his career, he served with the Thunderbirds’ Air Demonstration Squadron as the team’s maintenance officer. Later, while a squadron commander in 2005, he led his squadron to earn the U.S. Air Force Maintenance Effectiveness Award in the fighter aircraft category.
Carl Buhler is a member of the National Defense Industrial Association, Air Force Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Military Officers Association of America, and the American Legion.
